This past weekend, the Teamsters union ended a 10-day strike at a PepsiCo bottling plant in Indiana after the union’s constituents approved a new five-year labor deal with the soda maker.  The new deal gives each worker an almost $2 per hour raise over the life of the agreement, resulting in an average wage of about $21.50 per hour.  More significantly, the deal allows union members to remain on the Teamsters health plan, rather than having to switch over to a company-administered health plan.
