The good news keeps rolling in for the Teamsters. Earlier today, it was reported that the National labor Relations Board has ordered the certification of a union election held in February of 2013 in Santa Rosa County, FL. Accordingly, school bus drivers and monitors in Santa Rosa County, FL will now be represented by Teamsters Local 991 for the purpose of collective bargaining and representation. The Board’s ruling, handed down May 9, stated that the Teamsters are now the exclusive bargaining representatives of the petitioned-for unit. The ruling affects approximately 200 drivers and monitors.
Now that the bus drivers and monitors have received their election certification, the parties can sit down and begin negotiations over a new collective bargaining agreement for the members of the newly-formed unit. We will keep you posted on any important developments.
